Why online therapy? The question should be “Where have you been all my life??”

We live in a world where we connect with our friends, family, total strangers, and banks online all the time. I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of money with Amazon. I have not physically gone to deposit a check since my bank introduced the phone application. My best friend lives on the other side of the United States and we engage socially in person once every three years or so. If it was not for our virtual presence, we would never know what was going on in each other’s lives.

Online therapy can fulfill a similar niche for you. I agree, the best way to truly connect with others is in person. We don’t always have time or access for that unfortunately. In order to get the kids, make it to class, or have some solitary time to ourselves each day, we seek shortcuts that don’t require too much sacrifice.

If you schedule a therapy appointment on a work day. Will you be able to make it there in traffic? What about going on you lunch break? To get across town, get in a full therapeutic session and make it back to work in an hour is nearly an impossible task.

What about finding a quiet space in your office and connecting with your therapist online? Would that be easier? For a lot of people, this is the answer. At our office, we see clients in person as well as online on a regular basis.

It allows you greater choice in how to receive help. If you normally come in once a week and will be gone for work or a vacation, you can still get time to see your therapist. If you live in an area where there are not that many therapists, online therapeutic sessions offer freedom to choose someone who is an expert at what concerns you.

Privacy you ask? Oh, the software we use is also used by NASA for secure communications. As long as you to your part and have a space you can talk privately in, you’re set.

You can get all of the benefits of therapy and still get home with enough time to keep some for yourself. Consider it. It might be just what you need in order to get the support you need and build the rest of your life.
